The Cast

The cast of The Faithful Friend
(and our Director!)

I loved this show!! Yeah for Commedia!!

Ok: the Time is Now

So it has been a long time. So I figured it's time for an update. Only seven days of classes left!!! Yes!!! Do you think I'm excited? Boy am I!! I'm so excited to start living a life again that actually includes sleeping as an everyday event. And not writing papers as an everyday event.
So, I just finished my show a week ago. It was a hit and everybody just loved it. I have copies if anybody wants to see it. We're thinking about having an encore performance, because we've had so many people request one. It's up in the air right now: it depends on people's schedules and all that jazz. I would definitely do it. Even though the show was a big reason I was getting so little sleep, I would still give it up in a heartbeat if it meant I could still do the show.
That's my new passion: Commedia Dell'Arte. I absolutely love it. I want so much to get really involved in it, but it's so unknown here there really isn't a chance. There are two troupes in the US: one in San Fran and the other Boston. My director told me that if I wanted to get more involved with it I'd have to do the same thing she did: do it myself. So, this summer I'm going to try and study up on it and maybe next year I can get some things going. I just love it so much. It's my favorite type of theatre.
Ok, funny story: I had car trouble again. But this time it involved my roommate. One night we had a craving for tater tots. Well, I happened to have the keys to my other roommate's car because I'd driven her to school that day. So we decided to run to the local Creamery and get some tater tots and ice cream. Well, we get there and park, and my roommate shuts her door, and then we've got a problem. The seatbelt got stuck in the door, and it was in such a way that you couldn't pull it out, and you couldn't open or close the door! It was terrible! It was the stupidest thing that could happen! So we sat there forever trying to do anything with it and couldn't. We felt really bad because it was our other roommates car! So finally we just went in and got our stuff, adding a box of treats for the roommate, and then went home. We were both about to cry. We felt so bad. We told her, and her fiance who was there. She was totally cool about it, because it wasn't broken, just stuck. So the two of them went out there to try and fix it. They were there for about 20 minutes, and then they finally got it open. We felt so relieved! But it was the most retarded thing ever to happen!!! But now we can laugh about it... a little...
That's it for now. I may have more stuff to say at the end of the week though... ;) Talk to you all soon!!!
PS: The picture is my alter ego, Arlecchino, and my fellow servant in the show, Pedrolino. We liked to wrestle like kids in the performance: so much fun!

okay, I know it's been a while.....

Okay, I know it's been a while since my last post, but I've been super busy. That's right. Not just busy, but Super busy! I've been taking a web class on how to design web pages and I didn't realize (nor did most of my class judging from our prof.'s e-mail) that it was a quick class lasting only half the semester. So...that mean I had to get my 5 page web site up and running much sooner than expected! The last week I've spent it fine tuning everything and posting it for my final You can check it out at: www.geocities.com/jmsnutmeg/Home.html. I'm kind of proud of my first real attempt. (the store one doesn't count) I actually learned html for this and since you all know how much I LOVE maths and sciences (they being tools of satan) you can imagine the tredipdation I had going into the class. But, for the most part and barring the days when I screamed and cried over my computer, most of it made sense and actually WORKED. Amazing. There's been lots of drama at work, at home, at school, etc. Stephen dropped a 10 pound weight on his foot yesterday morning at the gym so we were at the doctors yesterday making sure it wasn't broken. Luckily it isn't, but somehow I doubt he's going to rest it for the 6 weeks she suggested (especially with Ryan recommending he take some pain medication and suck it up!). Yes, miracles do happen and Mom actually wrote a blog. I'll get her back in here one of these days. And no Ryan, I seriously doubt she's ready to vote for Hilary. Espcecially not since she hisses every time Hilary comes on tv. Kiely your hair is too short!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop cutting it!!!!!!!! I was okay with the flapper look, but I'm not buying the 'I'm just going to shave it for the summer heat' excuse. Okay, Love you all-it's time for American Idol!

The New Look

Check out the new look for the day! Props to my roommate!

Random House!!

So, for those of you who don't know, the house I live in, my roommates and I named it The Random House. So, if you ever hear me say that or write it somewhere, that's what I'm referring to. So, we were having some fun here at the house today after stake conference. So we sat outside to relax and ended up playing around with the camera. Check 'em out!!
PS: I've fallen. I have a new hairstyle, and surprise surprise, I'm wearing make-up!! Aaaahhhhh!!! Scary!!!!! :)

Spiritual Insight

Oh man!! I love Elder Bednar! He's amazing! We had stake conference this weekend, and Elder Bednar of the Twelve Apostles was here and spoke to us. And, I got to shake his hand! It was so cool. But he's so funny and just sincere and has a way of really keeping his audience captivated by his comments. He's great.
So, he said something that led me to start thinking about various things, and then I happened to see a scripture that really made me think about our family. It's Luke 6:21, "Blessed are ye that weep now: for ya shall laugh." We have a lot that we've gone through together, a lot that we're going through now, and a lot that we will go through together. And there's going to be a lot of tears and sadness, but even though that's happening now, we will laugh in the future. That scripture just gave me a whole new outlook.
So think positive everyone, because soon enough, we will all be laughing our little heads off. ;)

I love you all!!!!

Oh my goodness!!

The other half of the Smiths responded!!! The end is coming!! It's good to know you're still alive there Ry! :) And hey, everyone's got their talents and... addictions. With other people it's heroine, buying shoes, eating marshmallow concoctions: mine just happens to be blogging. So, respect the skill my friend! Don't be hatin'! And, Bets is close behind me in blogging time, so watch closely at home before you go abroad! :)
But isn't it a wonderful feeling to blog? It's relaxing, time consuming, addictive: I mean what else is better? :) But, maybe this summer I'll enter a program, if I do drop out...
Good luck at our luck. Remember though: hitchhiking is dangerous. Be careful. :)
80 degrees... pishposh. It got to 55 degrees today!!!! I went bike riding in shorts, which was amazing, and afterward layed out in the sun and read a book. It was the greatest feeling ever! Oh, and scary story! I was riding my bike, and this guy almost hit me! Luckily I saw him and swerved out of the way, and he stopped as I was swerving. So it was all good. But if we hadn't seen each other, he would have hit me straight on. Talk about fish food.
And, you should all know: I finished the fourth season of '24'!!! It was so good!! One more and I'll be on the current season!! I'm so excited!!

Love you all!
Thanks for the concern Ry... ;)
